Step 1: Connect Your MetaMask Wallet
To start, go to app.palm.io and connect your MetaMask wallet. At this time, the Palm Network only supports MetaMask connections. Since the Palm Network is a custom network, you will need to add network connection details to MetaMask before you can transact on it. You can toggle between Ethereum mainnet and Palm by selecting the dropdown in your Metamask wallet as shown here (if not already set up, you can configure the Palm network onto your wallet in the next step):
Step 2: Configure your Wallet
Note: If you have already configured your wallet for the Palm Network and added the DAI token, you may proceed to Step 4.
At the top of the screen, on the right side, click ‘Connect Wallet’. Next, click ‘Configure’ on the top left.
Add the Palm Network by scrolling down and clicking ‘Add Network’. The Metamask extension will then pop open and ask you to confirm adding and switching to Palm Network, as seen below.
The website will give you a confirmation note at the top saying that the Palm network was added.
Click ‘I have added the network’ below the Add Network button. Then click Continue on the bottom right of the page.
Step 3: Add the DAI Token
The next menu that pops up will add the DAI Token to Metamask.
Select ‘Add DAI Token’. The Metamask browser will pop open and confirm adding DAI to your wallet. Select ‘Add Token’
Next, select ‘I have added the DAI token’ (below the ‘Add DAI Token' button).
Then click ‘I have configured MetaMask’ on the bottom right hand corner.
Your wallet is now set up for the Palm network and DAI Token!
Step 4: Migrate Your NFT
On the menu after completing your wallet set up, select ‘Get Started’ under the option ‘NFT Bridge’. If it is not visible on this page, you can also select along the top menus ‘NFT Bridge’ to navigate to the correct page.
The page below will display to begin the migration process:
First, you will need to click ‘Check Wallet’ and then select the Token. Please select ‘Portion Art Token (Editions)’ for migrating a Portion NFT. You will see ALL NFT options available on the menu.
Next, from the menu to the right, select the NFT ID from the piece that you wish to move.
Note: This ID can be found on the Portion page for the specific piece you are looking for – the drop down will only display pieces YOU own, so please ensure the ID matches the piece you are looking to bridge.
Then, input the wallet address you would like to send the NFT to in the ‘Destination address’ box. This is where your NFT will be sent to after clicking ‘Start Transfer’.
Finally, when you are ready to begin the transfer and pay the bridge fee, select ‘Start Transfer’ to initiate the NFT migration.
Note: the bridge fee may vary based on current network fees
Metamask will pop open to initiate the bridge and pay the associated fees.
The Bridge Transfer will begin and then several MetaMask windows will pop up to confirm the bridging procedure.
First will be a confirmation of the token and addresses used in the transfer. This will be followed by a permission ‘to access DAI’ (unless you have previously given MM approval for this type of transaction). The last two windows will be both the approval and actual transfer transaction.
Once the bridge is complete, there will be a confirmation at the bottom of the page indicating ‘Transfer Complete!’
You will now be able to view your NFT on the Ethereum network!
Note: the transaction time can vary from a few minutes to a few hours depending on network activities.
Congratulations! You have now successfully bridged your Palm NFT over to the Ethereum mainnet.
