What Does Fashion Look Like in the Digital Age?

We are moving into an era where physical boundaries and constraints have been shattered by the possibility of the metaverse. Fashion, costumes, and clothes can now take any shape or form that we think of. The only aspect that is hindering us is our imagination. Fluid material can fall in any direction we wish, and the static ones take on shapes that allow for a more flowing approach. And though, in some aspects, fashion has always been wearable art, this idea can now be pushed to its utter limits and the boundaries can be explored to its full extent.

Portion Auctions Off the First Piece of Digital Clothing at Ethereal Summit 2019 Created by Fabricant x Dapper Labs

With this exhibition, we seek to explore where we are and where we might be going when it comes to thinking about fashion as art โ€“ no physical limitation. Do we still think about fashion as simply something we only wear or does it become wearable art that is not hindered by physical realm, and as result can take on any shape we might wish for?

Artist Open Call

Submit artwork by September 27th by minting it on Portion (using either the Ethereum or Palm network) and tagging it under the Digital Fashion category. One artist from the submission pool will be chosen by Portion curators to have their artwork displayed in Portion's physical exhibition on the world-famous Fifth Avenue in NYC. This exhibition will last the entire month of October as part of Portion's curatorial AR exhibit for CADAF Digital Art Month NYC. While there is only space for one AR artist to be selected for our Fifth Avenue exhibit, other submissions will be featured in Portion's Decentraland Museum for the entire month of October.

Guidelines for the Open Call

  • There is no limit to the number of pieces that you can submit to the open call, but please do note that each piece needs to be submitted as a separate piece
