Portion and the Crypto and Digital Art Fair (CADAF) have partnered for Digital Art Month, a festival in Paris that kicks off June 1, 2021 to celebrate the infinite creativity of artists that push boundaries with new mediums in times of social distancing.

The past year may be remembered as one of the most challenging times in recent history. With great change subsequently came marvelous technological disruption. The collective isolation and absence of public events naturally guided people to digital communities to retain social interaction. Furthermore, the interconnectedness of the internet and digital assets became essential in provoking many to rethink notions of value, especially as it relates to creative labor. We’ve witnessed the NFT space go mainstream while artists are increasingly collaborative and supportive of each other's digital process. The pace of discovery, magnitude, and innovation is beyond what we could have ever imagined when we began building this technology years ago. We are ecstatic to help support CADAF for Digital Art Month. It is an imaginative, engaging, and inclusive event that will encourage new communities of artists and collectors to explore the infinite possibilities sitting on the horizon of our new creative economy.

As part Digital Art Month, over 100 augmented reality and video artworks by 80 international artists will be showcased throughout various public locations and commercial spaces. The works will be placed at select cultural institutions including Centre Pompidou, Monnaie de Paris, Musée Carnavalet and others.

In addition, augmented reality filters will be hosted at over 50 Vélib stations, (Paris’ main public bike sharing system) and a number of local businesses across the city. Digital Art Month can be explored via self-guided art walks and specially designed bike tours crafted by Vélib. Furthermore, 3,000 digital screens will stream video works at five Parisian neighborhoods including Champs Elysées, Marais, Trocadéro, Saint-Germain and Villette thanks to our partner Clear Channel.

This edition of the festival is curated by Elena Zavelev and Andrea Steuer of CADAF, Jess Conatser of Studio As We Are, Itzel Yard of Creative Code Art and Zaiba Jabbar of Hervisions. Featured artists include the likes of Andy Picci, Ines Alpha, Filippo Soccini, Recycle Group, Kevin Abosch and many more.
